Salary: £61,690 - £96,129 per annum

Full Time but Part Time / Job Share applications also welcomed.

Post available from June 2025 for fixed term of 12 months.

Borders General Hospital is a modern and well-equipped 284 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh.

The Role

The post is suitable for those who have completed Core Surgical Training or equivalent. Successful candidates will join a team of 8 Consultants, 4 Specialty Doctors & 2 Specialty Trainees. Duties will involve the day to day care of Trauma & Orthopaedic patients, active participation in clinic and theatre sessions and close liaison with the Emergency Dept. A 1 in 6 duty rota will include evening and weekend work but no overnight work commitments.

Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice. You should demonstrate attainment of at least ST3 competencies (or equivalent) have appropriate postgraduate medical experience in a specialty training programme or equivalent in Orthopaedics and Trauma.
