NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Applications are invited for the post of ST4 LAT in Anaesthesia at Ninewells Hospital for 6 months from February 2025.

Applicants should have at least 36 months experience in Anaesthesia / Intensive care, completed all Stage 1 training in Anaesthesia (including the Primary FRCA exam or equivalent) and must be registered with the General Medical Council with a Licence to Practice. The Postgraduate Dean has confirmed that this post has the required educational and staffing approval.

The successful applicant will receive anaesthesia training aligned with the Royal College of Anaesthetists Stage 2 curriculum and will help support elective and emergency surgical services throughout NHS Tayside (Ninewells Hospital, Perth Royal Infirmary and Stracathro Hospital).  NHS Tayside has excellent library facilities and has active teaching and research programmes in which participation is expected and encouraged.

There may be a possibility to extend this appointment to the end of the training year. The extension may be at any of the hospitals on the rotation. If appointed to a relevant Specialty Training Programme through open competition, documented competences achieved through a LAT can count towards CCT, or towards a CESR application for those not entering an approved Specialty Training Programme.
