Due to retirement we are looking to appoint a 5-7 session GP (sessions open to discussion.) We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated GP Partnership or a salaried role. There is a degree of flexibility in start date.
We have a very low turnover of GPs and we think this reflects positively on the ethos we hold in the Practice. When our current partner retires our 5 remaining GPs will have been working at Camelon for 30, 22, 12, 6 and 2 years respectively. This is not to say we are stale and staid, but that it reflects that Camelon Medical Practice is a rewarding and sustainable place to work!
Camelon Medical Practice is located within Falkirk which is a short commute from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling and only 5 minutes’ drive from the M876 motorway. Our local train station is only a short walk away and links to all 3 cities. We have had GPs commute from Falkirk, Stirling, Dunblane, Cumbernauld and Glasgow.
Camelon Medical Practice currently has 8100 patients. We own our own purpose built premises and all GPs have their own Consulting room. As part of the team we currently have 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant an a well established administration and management team.
We are in the fortunate position of having a full complement of PCIP staff. We are fully supported by a pharmacy team, Physiotherapists, primary care mental health nurse, both paediatric and adult advanced nurse practitioners, a community treatment room and phlebotomy service.
We believe our Practice offers a good work-life balance. We have 7 weeks’ annual leave and 10 public holidays pro rata. Our GPs have time to explore their own areas of interest in regular admin sessions.
Communication is important to us as a Practice and we keep the team informed at our twice weekly ‘huddle’ where all GPs and staff are welcome, this is a good opportunity to ask questions with colleagues, have a quick brainstorm and catch up on what is going on.
We are also fortunate to have a large staff room where we enjoy our daily morning coffee/tea breaks, occasional stretch classes and lunch time chats.
The Practice has accepted the opportunity to become a training practice and will welcome FY2’s from next summer.
